Now let's Examine the same situation in the present day alongside traditional forms of advertising. Lisa would have access to digital marketing a much more extensive form of marketing lucrative inexpensive and configurable. Marketing that would enable marketers to advertise their audience digitally using channels like search engines, websites, social media platforms, emails etc. These types of social media marketing cop feels eye. Social media marketing would allow Lisa to take advantage of social media platforms to advertise her content to a highly targeted audience. It would help more people learn about her book increase the interaction with her audience. It's relatively inexpensive unless she goes into advertising and will help her get marketplace insights that might help in understanding her audience preferences better. Lisa started by taking up a certification to learn about social media marketing since she was already familiar with the concept of social media marketing. Her next move was to acquire knowledge that she could post a variety of content types on social media. Some of the most frequently used types of content Lisa could post would be images ,text, posts, polls and videos. 

Lisa, however, began to notice that over time not a lot of people were being exposed to his content. Lisa needed to advertise his content, for that she would need to use the advertising options provided by the social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn and Twitter. Most advertising platforms offer users with several different options. 


Similar to image ads, these ads make use of single or multiple images that are attractive and have the optimal amount of text Additionally, they have a call to action encourages user interaction. Lisa could use images from his book to advertise websites that sell her book.

And more then there are text and post ads these ads could advertise posts or excerpts from Lisa's blog or her book further garnering interest from an interesting audience.

She could also use video ads. Lisa could use video ads that feature favorable reviews and customer testimonials to advertise her books. 

Lisa could also use lead ads through which she could collect information from users who are interested in a weekly newsletter or regular updates from her blog but that wasn't the only thing. Lisa could do with social media platforms. 

She could establish a personal brand and drive audience interest to it. Engage with them, Create an identity, engage with content, finding content that works for her. Social media platforms also allowed her the opportunity to target audiences based on demographics like their age, location, orientation and substantially more. 


And in time Lisa started to notice a rise in the number of viewers coming to her social media page and by extension her blog. She also saw an increase in the number of people who bought her book greatly increasing her audience. Here are some things she learned 

  1. To set goals that were quantitative smart and follow a constant deadline. 
  2. To understand her audience by engaging establishing a connection with all. 
  3. A social media calendar to plan competitions polls surveys videos and more. 
  4. Using tools like buzz sumo ifttt buffer and more for lead generation creating email lists setting buyer personas and more. 
  5. To perform visual storytelling with the help of images and videos.
